Task 3.11.1: Update Start-shift/End-shift Mailbox

If your agency runs web services clients and does not use the standard mobile client, this task does not apply to your agency.

Purpose: Defines storage location and method of transferring data between field units and the office TraCS database.

Requirements: Master computer.

Note: The most commonly configured communication method for start-shift and end-shift is Network.

Double click the shortcut for the TraCS Configuration Manager, located on your desktop.
Sign in with account 00001.
Click Transmission tab.
Click the Communications button.
Expand the Communication Instructions item.
All the communications instructions related to start-shift or end-shift end with the words “StartShift” or “EndShift”. “To” or “From” indicates the direction data is transmitting. Also indicated in the instruction is the type of media, for example, network or USB.

Note: Your transmission instructions may be in a different order than shown here. Be sure you have the right instruction selected at each step.
