Task 2.5.2: Recover Network Folder No Backup
Purpose: Recreate the TraCS network folder after the files contained within it have been damaged and no backups exist.
Note: It is recommended that you contact badgertracs@wi.dot.gov to help you assess your agency’s situation. There may be less drastic options available depending on the extent of the damage.
All agencies who are not in the hosted environment MUST become Web Services. The instructions below are for Web Services agencies.
Requirements: TraCS Installation files, field unit configuration files.
Follow the instructions linked below to install TraCS on your IIS Server (Master Computer) so you can setup your files for your new network share. Please note that if your SQL server is still intact, you won’t need to do the final step in Task 1.2(c).

Don’t forget to share out the TraCS folder directory so other computers can access it!
Login to Configuration Manager and configure the following:
In the TraCS Configuration Manager, click the Setup tab and then the Database Connection button.
Expand Database Connections Strings
Verify and update as needed that all 5 databases (Support, Data, Users, Log, and Custom) point to the correct server.
You should select each database and click the Test button to verify the connection to each database.
Click OK to save any changes
Log out of TraCS Configuration Manager
Update to the latest TraCS pack by following the instructions in Task 2.6.1Task 2.6.1: Recover TraCS Updates | Run Pack Update
