Satellite Agency

If your agency would like to work with an agency that is not Law Enforcement but have them issue Non-Traffic citations, then please read below and reach out to the TraCS Help Desk.

Background:

There are non-law enforcement agencies throughout the state that issue citations and would like to use TraCS. TraCS is designed for Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA), and the Wisconsin TraCS License Agreement signed with the State of Iowa only allows Wisconsin to sub-license TraCS with law enforcement agencies.

We have received approval to create an option for LEAs to ‘host’ their local agencies and set the local agency up as a ‘Satellite Agency.’ The LEA will be responsible for installing, updating and maintaining TraCS on the ‘Satellite Agencies’ computer(s).

Satellite agencies need to be released via TraCS pack updates as they are considered “new agencies”

LEA Responsibilities:

The Hosting LEA understands that they are responsible for all support and training of users for any Satellite Agency(s) staff that use TraCS.

  • Add, modify, and deactivate Satellite Agency User(s)

    • ***If your agency is in the hosted environment, then you are responsible for reaching out to the help desk and providing us the information.

  • Install and maintain TraCS for the Satellite Agency

  • Train the Satellite Agency on how to use Badger TraCS

Badger TraCS Responsibilities:

  • Add Satellite TraCS Location ID to system to Badger TraCS System

  • Add Satellite Agency ORI Number to system to Badger TraCS System

  • Add Satellite Agency contact information to Badger TraCS System

  • Assist with setting up the Satellite Agency per the Hosted Agency’s request
