Task 3.18.0(c) User Groups, TraCS Hosted Environment

Task 3.18.0(c) User Groups, TraCS Hosted Environment

Purpose: Assigns users to access to user groups.

Requirements: send an email to badgertracshosted@dot.wi.gov.

There are 2 groups that agencies have access to in the Hosted Environment.

  • ###_All—Group: with the ### being the agency number, for example the Test police Department would have a group 012_All. This group contain the entire list of users for the agency.

  • OptIn—Group: This contains all the agencies opting in to share their data so other agencies can view their data. This is good for looking up Individuals or Vehicles in the Master Index.

All Group Changes

Changes to the all group are adding deleting rights for user within the agency to other users in the agency. Most users with Supervisor access rights usually have access to all forms within the agency and can modify and Accept (Transmit) forms of everyone in the agency. To modify the rights of a specific user:

  1. Email badgertracshosted@dot.wi.gov the following:

    1. User adding/deleting the rights of other users in your agency:

    2. Adding or removing rights:

    3. Rights adding: all users current access, reporter, supervisor, citation admin and or confidential admin.

  2. You will receive a response when changes are complete. Re-Login once you receive the confirmation to have the changes take effect.

Opt-In Group Changes

Originally, DSP/TraCS was going to set each law enforcement agency up to only view/edit their own data. However, we have heard from agencies that they would like the opportunity to view (only view, not edit) other agencies data as well as their own. The default is for agencies to view and edit their own data only. If a law enforcement agency chooses to opt-in and open their data up for others to view (only view, not edit) their forms and attachments, that can be set by the optin group. This would allow all law enforcement agencies that opted-in, to view (only view, not edit) other agencies’ forms and attachments except for forms that are marked ‘confidential.’

What about removing the Opt-in Option?

  1. Email badgertracshosted@dot.wi.gov that you would like your agency to share your data and view all other opt-in agencies data.

  2. You will receive a response when changes are complete. Re-Login once you receive the confirmation to have the changes take effect.

  3. This will also require you to use and save favorite searches so you don’t see the forms unless you are looking up information about an individual or vehicle.
