Users Defaults
Users Defaults
TraCS allows default values to be set for some of the fields. Setting up a default will not populate the field; rather it selects the default answer from the choices presented when you enter the field. The User file that your agency supplies you with will already have several defaults built into it. You can set up individual defaults by Right clicking on a form field and selecting Set Default Value.
Some of the most common fields to default are given in an appendix of this manual.
User defaults are saved locally on field units and in a database for workstations. If users work in different field units, their updated defaults will not be available in all the field units. User defaults are endshifted from field units along with forms. This process will ensure all workstations have the updated user defaults. To get an updated user default to a Field Unit the user will have to be selected during start shift. Once the start shift is completed from the workstation the user signs into the Field Unit and performs a start shift. Once the start shift is completed the user default is updated on that Field Unit.
NOTE: User Defaults work better in a Web Services environment.
Here is a walkthrough on how to setup a user default: Set Up User Defaults
