Add New/Replicate
Add New/Replicate
Both the Add New button and the Replicate button are features that use the auto-populate feature in TraCS. The auto-populate feature takes data from one form and populates that data onto another form. Both these button should be used on forms in the same case/incident.
Add New
Click the Add New button when another form is needed for a different person in the same contact. Some data from the first form will populate the second form. The following pages show what fields can be populated from one form to another form.
Example of when to use the Add New feature:
When issuing multiple forms to different people in a contact such as an Underage Drinking house party or seat belt violations
Add New copies less fields and generally it will copy the incident date/time, location and police number.
Replicate
Click the Replicate button when another form is needed for the same person in the same contact. Some data from the first form will populate the second form. The following pages show what fields can be populated from one form to another form using this feature.
Example of when to use the Replicate feature:
When issuing multiple forms to the same person in a contact such as a speeding citation and a seat belt citation use the Replicate feature.
Replicate is less common as it needs to copy most of the information found on a form. It cannot copy to and from forms that have multiple individuals to one that only has one individual i.e. crash to citation.
