Alternative A: Perform Task 1.2(a) if your response to questions 2 and 3 on the architecture worksheet were:
Our field units are connectable to the network/Internet some of the time or you have no network/Internet connectivity in your field units.
The PC workstations in our headquarters are connected to a Local Area Network (LAN). We have access to a network drive in the office. We plan on having multiple PC workstations running TraCS in office mode. One of these PCs will also be our TraCS master computer. We are also able to connect to the Internet so that we can download software updates and transmit data.
Alternative B: Perform Task 1.2(b) if your response to question 3 on the architecture work was:
No connectivity for field units and no local area network: We have no or very little ability to connect to a network or Internet from a field unit. USB flash drives are our primary means of transferring data. We don’t have access to a network drive in the office. We plan on having a single standalone workstation running TraCS in office mode. This will also be our master computer which we connect to the Internet so that we can download software updates and transmit data.
Alternative C: Perform Task 1.2(c) if your response to question 2 on the architecture work was:
We have broadband in-car mobile Internet connectivity in field units and we want to run TraCS as a web application.
