Purge and Archiving Processes

  • Purge and Archive processes both continuing to run smoothly.

  • Investigating the ability to run the process hourly instead over nightly.

  • 917,772 total archived crashes of which 298,067 represent purged crashes.  This includes 1,705,393 total image files.

2021 Crash Finalization

  • Plan is to incorporate the results of the 2021 final RP coding and generate the final extracts early 2023.

  • Statistical frozen 2021 data set available on WisTransPortal and Community Maps.

HWYCLASS Working Group

  • 1/24 Working Group Meeting (4th Tuesday)

Crash Records Unit

Questions from Law Enforcement Agencies:

CRU business unit provided email and remote support to law enforcement agencies to resolve Validation errors in the DT4000 crash form. 

Received 12 LEA questions in the last six weeks with 5 of them related to Hit and Run Crashes.

 

FTP requests:

The shared folders setup in the DOT FTP server for TOPS lab & State Lab hygiene is successfully used for uploading documents.

 

Transmission failures:

  • We addressed 15 transmission failures between Dec 9th and now

    • Out of it, 10 are transmitted after providing solution to the agencies

    • 2 are transmitted as other documents

    • 3 are still pending with the agencies

 

Badger TraCS January 2023 Pack updates related to Crash Form

  • Table Updates - Hospital Names Changed:

    • ST CLARES HOSP-WESTON changed to Marshfield Medical Center – Weston

    • Appleton Medical Center changed to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Appleton

    • Chippewa Valley Hospital changed to AdventHealth Durand

  • Bug Fixes & Highlights:

    • Transfer Form button for DT4000 & DT3480 - to show only active users.

    • Crash Form: Bug fix to validate Amended Deer crash.

    • A printed version of the Law Enforcement Crash Involvement email

    • Tested for Ambulance and Insurance company updates for January 2023 pack.

 

DT4000 Fatal Crashes:

Quality Check process for DT4000 fatal crashes is performed which comes in Resolve. The process starts with creating a Jira issue for DT4000 basic check and then and assigned to the FARS team,

  • FARS team performs quality check for

    • All Fatal Injuries Shown

    • DT3480 Available

    • Diagram Good

    • Narrative Good

    • Sequence of Events Good

  • Based on the results of the quality check process the agency is contacted to amend the crash report. (Currently, 5 fatal crashes are under agency review)

  • Tracking is done for missing DT4000 fatal crashes, and the agency is contacted when a 3-week due date is met from the crash date.

  • Currently, we are missing 2 crashes from Racine PD and Wauwatosa PD.

 

Enhancements to Crash Database & Resolve system

  • Developed Test cases in JIRA and performed testing for Restricted Crashes and bug fixes which was deployed in the December development cycle.

  • Currently working on testing new features in System Stability in the TST environment.

  • In the last 6 weeks, attended CAB for 3 change requests which includes

    • 2 monthly server maintenance scheduled on December 18th and January 29th

    • 1 Resolve Enhancement for Restricted crashes and Bug Fixes scheduled on December 21st
