Dispose of Equipment

When the equipment is old or no longer works it needs to be removed from TraCS. The following are the steps for disposing of the old unrepaired equipment.

  1. In TraCS 10

  2. Navigate to the Equipment ribbon Click the Dispose Button.

  3. Anew equipment inventory form will open.

  4. Enter a current serial number using the Master Index button (Note: When Checking in equipment always use the Master index to find the correct piece of equipment)

    1. Tab to Serial number field

    2. Click Master Index in the databar.

    3. Choose

      ,

      and any other choices used to make your search for equipment easier.

    4. Click Search

    5. Highlight equipment to check in and click Apply

    6. The equipment Action of Disposed will auto fill

    7. The Disposal date will default to today.

    8. All the information about the piece of equipment will be auto filled.

  5. Enter a description describing the disposal of the equipment (Example: Traded in for new equipment, sent to Madison for auction, etc...).

  6. Click Validate

  7. Click OK

  8. The equipment has now been set to dispose in the inventory.
