Web Client: All PC’s, workstations, laptops or field units will have TraCS installed as ‘Web Clients’ in the Badger TraCS Hosted Environment. A Web Client connects to the Badger TraCS Hosted Environment via the internet; and still will be able to be used in ‘Offline Mode’ when internet is not available. All forms generated on Web Clients will be automatically uploaded to the Badger TraCS Hosted Environment whenever internet connectivity is available.
Online Mode: When a ‘Web Client’ is connected to the Internet allowing forms to upload and save automatically to the hosted database.
Offline Mode: When the Internet is unavailable, the data will save locally on the computer/laptop, and upload to the hosted database once computer is back online.
External Search: the action in TraCS which brings in individual and vehicle data into TraCS from third-party Mobile Data Browsers (MDB) such as eTIME
Transmission: The process of transferring data from the office TraCS database to the courts, DA, WisDOT, local record management systems, or other destinations.
Distribution: The process by which local configuration files from the master computer are installed on field units and additional workstations.
WI Pack: a patch from the state which is served to your computers from the Badger TraCS update server. WI Packs contain changes to TraCS forms, state level transmission instructions, map updates, and changes to the baseline TraCS engine.
