How assignments work in MACH
Assignments allow us to more effectively manage our grouping and permissions. Ā In a nutshell, assignments allow a user to change permissions on the fly by simply changing their assignment. Ā There will be seven assignments for sworn and seven assignments for LED's. Ā The assignments will correspond with the post that the person is currently working in. Ā
When logging into MACH a user will be prompted to select their current assignment. Ā Their home post will also be their default assignment which will be auto selected.
A user at this point could unselect and select assignments as needed. Ā MACH will not allow a user to proceed without any assignments. Ā A minimum of one assignment must be selected. Ā
After logging into MACH the user will be able to change assignments without logging out by using the assignment button.
Assignments will be used to control what a user has permission to see or do. Ā An LED that has selected a Deforest Post assignment will only see CFS's of other Deforest post LED's and Sworn Personnel. Ā Currently we accomplish this by using filter that only allows the LED to see the CFS that geographically locate within the Post.
Once assignments are being utilized, we no longer recommend filtering this way as it is no longer needed. Ā This way if a user creates a CFS without a location if that user has the same assignment, it will be visible.
Unfortunately, the Units screen does not work the same way. Ā Users will still have to go in and check the group they want to see.
MACH users assignment should correlate directly with their WISCOM channel.Ā
