Call For Service Window

A Call for Service (CFS) is used to capture all information for each event that our users create. Similar to creating an RD in the HTE CAD system, a CFS has:

  • Incident Location

    • Allows for actual address, mileposts, and GPS coordinates

  • CFS Details

    • Includes the Status of the Call

    • CFS Type (10-50, Assist Other Agency, etc)

    • Description

      • This is free text to allow user to provide additional information such as "Right Shoulder", "Median" or any other information.

      • There is no character limit at this time for this field

  • CFS Number - similar to an RD#

  • Priority

    • 1-Highest

    • 2-High

    • 3-Normal

    • 4-Low

    • 5-Lowest

  • Event Number

    • This is used when two Calls have been created for the same event. For example, a dispatcher has created a 10-46 & a field user creates a 10-46 for the same vehicle. This is where we can tie those two Calls together

  • Case Number

    • Currently not used

  • Origin

    • Field Units with Self Dispatch abilities will default to "Self Dispatch"

    • Dispatch has an expanded list

      • 911

      • Email

      • MACH

      • PBX

      • Person

      • Radio

      • TTY

  • Disposition

    • Displays the type of Disposition for the Call (Citation Issued, Written Warning, etc.)

  • When (Time/Date) the CFS was created & closed, and who created it

  • Resources (Person, Vehicle & Location)

    • All users have the ability to hand enter information into Resources and run that information thru the NCIC Bot

    • Also, all users have the ability to easily paste resource information into the Resources fields from a previously run NCIC Bot request

  • Units Assigned and their status as it relates to the CFS

    • Dispatched

    • Acknowledged

    • En Route

    • Arrived

    • Cleared

  • Towing Services Assigned to the CFS

    • Towing Service status

      • Dispatched

      • Acknowledged

      • En Route

      • Arrived

      • Cleared

  • Towing Services assigned to the CFS can be seen by all CAD users, but only added by dispatchers

  • Notes

    • Free text area that is time/date stamped, and allows for ALL CAD users to enter additional information into the CFS

    • This area has a header of "Dispatch Notes", but is for all users to add information.

  • Session for each specific CFS

    • The session is specific to the CFS, and non-CAD users (outside agencies) can be added to onlyĀ the session (not the CFS)

  • Map showing the location of the CFS and the location of the users assigned to the CFS

  • Ability to Take Ownership of the Call and to End the Call (dispo'ing)

  • Ability to Print the CFS

  • Ability to go "En Route", "Arrived", and "Cleared"

  • Ability to update the location of the CFS coordinates which will update the map markers

A CFS screen looks slightly different on the field user screen due to the lower screen resolution on the CF-31's compared to a desktop monitor. In the screenshot below, there is a 'Resources' tab and a 'Note tab instead of all of the information within the same page.
