Create New Distribution

For NON-Hosted agencies, perform the steps to create a new distribution from the agency’s Office or MASTER computer. DO NOT CREATE FROM A MOBILE WEB CLIENT

Only BTHE machines can create distributions from Mobile Web clients.

Create baseline distribution files.

  • Start TraCS

  • Sign in with a System Admin account.

  • Click the Configuration and Distribution button on the Tools ribbon menu.

  • Click Create Distribution.

  • Enter the 3-digit TraCS Agency Number (TAS Number) for your agency.

  • Click OK to open the configuration wizard for this computer (master computer.)

  • Press the Edit button.

  • Before you press Validate, make note of where it says it is saving the distribution in case you need to locate the actual files. You can copy what it says in the Distribution Folder and paste that in windows explorer folder to make sure you can find it.

If your agency is in the Hosted Environment, there will only be the MobileDistribution

  • Press the Validate button. If the form validates without error you receive a message requesting to create the distribution files. Click Yes to generate the distribution files and place them in the distribution folders for deployment.

  • It may take a few seconds for the distribution to generate. Be patient. Click OK when the deployment message appears.

  • Now the Office and Mobile distributions will run the distribution and apply the changes made.

    • TraCS looks for new distributions when you log in

    • TraCS will run the new distribution upon logging out

If your agency is in the Hosted Environment, there will only be the MobileDistribution

If you are doing a new install, you will need to manually run the distribution by locating where it was saved and double clicking on the MobileDistibution or MobileHostDistribution file.

Your computers must be connected to the TraCS file share for this to work properly.
