Task 3.14(d): Configure RMS Transmission Settings, Hosted Environment Alternative


Purpose: Request that TraCS be enabled to create xml files to download and transmit data to your Records Management System (RMS).

Requirements: RMS capable of importing TraCS data through xml and Badger TraCS Hosted Environment

Note: Hosted Environment does not support RMS’s that extract data directly through the database

Note: Agencies should have already been set up on your initial installation of the Badger TraCS Hosted Environment.

Set Up Client Environment

  1. Log into TraCS Configuration Manager on the agency’s computer (as yourself with system admin or reach out to Badger TraCS staff). 

  2. Set up in Communications (Log in as yourself) 

    1. Log into TraCS configuration 

    2. Transmission tab 

    3. Communication button

    4. Check to see if the Action RMS Download is already imported if not:

      1. Click Import button from Template 

      2. Check No, Let me Choose 

      3. Import the following actions: 

        1. RMS Download 

    5. Check the following under RMS Download Actions: 

      1. RMSDownload 

        1. If agency isn't using RMS  

          1. Uncheck Active

    6. If agency is using an RMS and wants to send data to the RMS via the RMS Download button,

      1. Make sure RMS Download is set to Active.

        1. If you see multiple instructions other than a simple RMS Download, we recommend reaching out to the help desk to assist you in configuring your TraCS RMS communication settings.

      2. modify the Destination location based on where the data should be sent to.

      3. Change Location ID on Communication Options Tab

    7. Save file. 

    8. Complete a distribution on this machine.
