Task 5.2: Install WI Pack Updates

Purpose: Applies patches from the Badger TraCS update service to fix bugs in the TraCS software, update state-level code tables, and add new features.

Requirements: TraCS Installed

Each time you log into the computer, a check is made to see if a new WI Pack is available to your Environment. WI Packs contain state level updates to the TraCS software, which include bug fixes, state level code table updates, and feature enhancements. We encourage you to keep your WI Pack level current. However, each pack is cumulative. If you skip the occasional WI Pack release, your computers will be updated on the next release you accept including files from skipped releases. Note: it is highly recommended you keep up with the updates as there could be issues related to data between the database and the version you have on your client.

Periodically, Badger TraCS will announce the availability of a new WI Pack. The Badger TraCS hosted environment will always update to the latest pack and it is in highly recommended you keep up with the updates. At times, if needed a requirement will be added to require the update be installed prior to using a TraCS client on the Hosted Environment

The update server requires connectivity to the Internet.
