Task 3.14: Configure RMS Transmission Settings
Task 3.14: Configure RMS Transmission Settings
Purpose: Configure TraCS to extract and transmit data to your Records Management System (RMS). This task is optional.
Alternative A: Perform Task 3.14(a) if your response to question 9 on the architecture worksheet was:
No, we do not plan to run TraCS in a para-virtualized environment, and we are not in the Badger TraCS Hosted Environment
Alternative B: Perform Task 3.14(b) if your response to question 9 on the architecture worksheet was:
Yes, we plan to run TraCS in a para-virtualized environment such as Citrix, Terminal Server, or VMware, and we are not in the Badger TraCS Hosted Environment
Different types of hardware virtualization include:
Full virtualization – Almost complete simulation of the actual hardware to allow software environments, including a guest operating system and its apps, to run unmodified.
Paravirtualization – The guest apps are executed in their own isolated domains, as if they are running on a separate system, but a hardware environment is not simulated. Guest programs need to be specifically modified to run in this environment.
Warning: although some agencies have chosen to run TraCS as a virtualized application, the Vendor for TraCS did not specifically design the application to be run in this manner. We have had reports that TraCS runs more slowly as a virtualized application. Data losses can occur if a session is dropped suddenly.
The next 3 alternatives are for the Badger TraCS Hosted Environment Only
Alternative C: Perform Task 3.14(c), to enable RMS exports in the Badger TraCS Hosted Environment.
Alternative D: Perform Task 3.14(d), to configure RMS exports in Agency of a Badger TraCS Hosted Environment.
Alternative E: Perform Task 3.14(e), to work with RMS exports in the Badger TraCS Hosted Environment.
