Appendix E – Using the Barcode Reader

TraCS can be configured to use a Barcode Reader \ Imager to read 2D bar-coded information.  Information from Driver’s License and Certificates of Registration can be imported into TraCS if the issuing state followed the AAMVA (American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrator) standards. 

Individuals and vehicles can be scanned into Common Information Manager at any time while in a form.  Once in Common Information Manager the information can be used to populate fields.

Bar Code Readers Not Working

While in the Form Manager if you use the Bar Code reader to scan a TraCS Bar Code for Evidence it will Search the database for the form associated to that bar code pulling up the correct Evidence form.
