Task 3.21: Configure Notification Service

Purpose:  A notification is an email alert that is attached to a TraCS advanced search. Any advanced search created by any user can have a notification added to it.

When a notification is added to a search, the search will automatically run at an interval that you can specify.

Each time the search runs, it will compare the forms returned by the search with the forms returned by it the last time it ran. If new forms are returned by the search that did not exist during its previous execution, an email notification will be generated.

Requirement: Task 1.4.1 SMTP —set up an email database connection.  These 2 tasks are requirement for either to work.

Note: These services can be added to one office machine in the agency. This is not recommended though.

Recommended Setup: Separate your Batch Server from your Application Server to prevent login errors, slow upload/download times, and Batch Services processing issues.

Set up Windows services to manage e-mail and notifications.

cd C:\Program Files (x86)\TraCS
".\Email Add Service.bat"
".\Notification Add Service.bat"

NOTE: you will have to hit enter after step 2 runs to complete step 3
