Add Area Filter

One or more area filters can be added to the Map panel and applied on the map so that only markers within the selected area(s) are displayed. Once added to the Map panel, are filters can be distinguished from other non-filtering map layers by the Filter icon that is displayed next to them.

  • Click the Area Filter button in the Map panel and select the source for the area filter:

  • Rectangle - Allows you to draw a rectangle on the map to define an area filter.

  • KML File - Allows you to select a KML file. If the KML file contains one or more polygons, they can be applied as area filters.

  • Encoded String - Some webpages that display Google maps may have one or more polygons drawn on the map. These polygons are stored in the HTML source code as an encoded string. The encoded string can be copied and pasted from the web page source into TraCS where the polygon will be rendered and made available as an area filter.

  • Library - Opens the library window where saved polygons can be added to the current Map panel. In the library window, polygons that have their checkboxes checked will be available in the Map panel when the OK button is clicked.
