Task 1.1: Prepare for TraCS Installation

Purpose: Prepares environment for TraCS installation. Assembles materials.

Requirements: Computer connected to the Internet.

Receive welcome letter from Badger TraCS with serial numbers.
Complete all worksheets in planning section.
Enable your agency’s Internet firewall for http and https traffic on
1. wijis.wisconsin.gov
2. trust.dot.state.wi.us
3. on.dot.wi.gov
Enable your agency’s Internet firewall for FTPS traffic on ftp.dot.wi.gov (port 990). Be sure to allow TIFF files over FTPS.
Install .net framework 4.6.1 if not already present on all TraCS desktop computers and laptops.

If not present, you may download it from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49981
Follow the installation instructions provided by Microsoft.
Obtain authorization for access to the Badger TraCS extranet.
1. If you do not already have a Wisconsin User Id (WUID), click https://on.wisconsin.gov/WAMS/SelfRegController to create the WUID.
2. After you have obtained your WUID, you will need to request authorization for it by sending an e-mail to mailto:badgertracs@dot.wi.gov. Be sure to include your Wisconsin User ID, First Name, Last Name, return email address, the name of your agency, and your TraCS serial number in your request.
Download production version of tracs10.zip: https://trust.dot.state.wi.us/tracs/software/tracs10.zip
Extract the contents of the file to a folder of your choosing on the network or to a USB Flash Drive.
If you plan on running TraCS as a web application on an IIS server,
1. Request an unlock key for TraCS Server from mailto:badgertracs@dot.wi.gov.
2. Download the server edition of TraCS: https://trust.dot.state.wi.us/tracs/software/tracsserver.zip.
3. Extract the contents of the file to a folder of your choosing.
