Task 2.4.3(b): Recover Support Database, SQL Server Alternative


Note: It is recommended that you contact badgertracs@wi.dot.gov to help you assess your agency’s situation.  There may be less drastic options available depending on the extent of the damage.  

Purpose:  Recreate the TraCS Support database when it is destroyed beyond repair and no backups exist.

Requirements: TraCS Installation files, access to field unit with TraCS mobile installed.

  1. In SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

    1. Create the tracs_Support database.

			 ALTER DATABASE '+quotename(db_name())+' SET read_committed_snapshot ON
			 ALTER DATABASE '+quotename(db_name())+' SET MULTI_USER'
exec(@sql1) 
  1. Make sure to give your agencies TraCS SQL user owner rights to the database.

  2. Reset to Zero Pack

    1. Remove the Distribution Support. xml file

      1. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\TraCS\Settings

      2. Delete DistributionSupport.xml

    2. Reset the Registry file

      1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\TraCS

      2. Edit RegistryKeyName.ini

      3. Delete everything after TraCSPack=

  3. Rerun the WIPack.
